How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take
refuge in the shadow of your wings.
Groundhog Day is a day celebrated on February 2 (today).
According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow
on this day, then spring will come early; if it is sunny, the groundhog will
see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will continue
for six more weeks.
Although it’s fun to follow Punxsutawney Phil and watch
his shadow I wonder as those around us see our shadow what do they see?
Are you living a life that your shadow shows others the
cross of Christ and His love. You never know who is watching and who might be
saved as a result.
Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus
Christ is the answer to the question that is every human life. Only in a
relationship with Jesus are we able to see the true meaning of life. Only in a
relationship with him are we able to find true happiness and peace and the
meaning and purpose of our lives.
Dear Lord, we pray that the shadow we give us will show
the cross of Christ. Help us to show others Your love when they see us. In
Jesus’ Name, Amen.
By the way, good old’ Punxsutawney Phil did see his
shadow and went crawling back into his hole signaling 6 more weeks of winter.
