I shall not want

When anyone says, “I shall not want…” it should cause us to stop and think, Why? Because ours is an age of discontentment. Everyone wants more – not just professional athletes. Little ones want more attention, toys and TV time. Teenagers want more “freedom” and popularity. Adults want more money and leisure time. Seniors want more health, friends and loyalty of family. Basically we are not contented people. We should strive to be content with what God gives us or doesn’t give us. After all He is our Shepherd and He takes care of his sheep.

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
— Psalm 23:1

Dear Lord our Great Shepherd, carry me like a lamb, tenderly in your arms and close to your heart. My life, my future, and my strength depend upon you. Please help me hear your voice above the confusing distractions around me. Under your care I have no
fears. Thank you for being my Shepherd. In Jesus' name. Amen.
