1 Timothy 2:1-3 (NIV)
1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior.

Can you guess which organization this is?
It's the 535 members of your United States Congress. The same group that perpetually cranks out hundreds upon hundreds of new laws designed to keep the rest of us in line.
Dear Lord, today we want to pray specifically for the elected officials. We pray that they would turn their hearts and minds to you as they make and in force our laws. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
