James 1:23-25 (ESV)
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer,
he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he
looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the
one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being
no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
"Don't worry about what you do not understand...
Worry about what you do understand in the Bible but do not live by." --
Corrie Ten Boom
It's easy to run congregations and preach sermons, write
books, teach Sunday School, lead Bible Studies, and say all the right things.
It’s not nearly as easy, however, to practice what we preach! But a much bigger
blessing comes from the latter!
Let's start talking less and doing more! We all have a
long way to go.
Dear Lord, help us to practice what we preach. Help our
words not be just words but to be our actions also. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
