Psalm 91:9-10 (ESV)
9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High,
who is my refuge—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come
near your tent.
Joanne and Bob became involved in an outreach ministry
called Living Word Center. The center was open six nights a week. It took a lot
of prayer, dedicated work and long hours for all associated with it. After
work, it usually meant a quick supper and a fifteen minute nap for.
One day while following the same routine, he had just
touched the bed when a strong anointing came on him as had happened in April
when he was Baptized. In the twinkling of an eye, it came. In a vision of the Lord,
he saw the front of a white tractor trailer. Outside the cab was the smiling
face of his brother, Edward! His face was very clear and recognizable in the
vision. He dropped to his knees and fervently prayed. The Bible says: "In
the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought
to pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot
express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because
the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will."
(Romans 8:26-27) After about ten minutes of interceding, the anointing left and
the vision was lifted from him.
He knew that his brother, Ed, who lived in California,
was a milk tank truck driver. He also knew that, although he had been in
danger, no harm had come to him. Nevertheless, he was curious to find out what
had happened to him. The next day, he sent him a letter asking, "Did
anything particular happen to you on that day and at that hour?" He did
not tell him what the Lord had shown him in the vision.
Ed's reply came quickly, "I was driving on a two
lane highway in a mountainous area and a car was passing me in a no passing
zone. What the driver could not see, I could. Another car was coming ahead and
a collision was inevitable! I pulled off the pavement. I lost control! It
looked like I was crashing into a ravine! LORD HELP! I gripped the steering
wheel with all my might, trying to get control. Suddenly, an unseen force
entered my cab. The little bit of hair that I have stood up straight and so did
the hair on my arms. Just as suddenly the whole big tanker truck was back on
the highway! I am sure the angel of the Lord rescued me that day!
Do You listen when God tells you to pray?
Dear Lord, help our eyes and ears be open to Youth voice.
Help us listen to Your voice when You
speak to us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
