There is a great story about the explorer, Ferdinand Magellan. The date was 1520. For about one year Magellan had battled foul weather and mutinous crews as he sought to find a passage through South America. When he finally found his way through the raging seas of the Atlantic to the great body of water that lay beyond this new continent, he named it "Pacific" or "peaceful." And he and his men lifted their heads and gave thanks to God.
That is what we would all like to find. We would like to put down our anchor in a great sea called, Pacific, Peaceful.
God gives us all that peace, we need to trust in Him and keep going to the Sea “Peaceful”.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
- John 14:27 (New International Version)
Dear Lord and Heavenly Father, may we find true peace in you and your son Jesus Christ. Help us not give up along the way but keep pressing toward the goal. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
